If you’ve lived in Argentina for any length of time, shopping for clothes—particularly if you’re not skinny—has probably, more often than not, left you empty-handed. Over the years, surveys via AnyBody Argentina, an NGO I founded in 2011, and the Universidad Abierta Interamericana have shown that the majority of Argentines, especially women, struggle to find clothes that fit their size.
It’s bad enough that women have to contend with a glass ceiling that limits their advancement at work, not to mention a wage gap that translates into 73 cents being paid to women for every dollar paid to men—and less for women of colour.
